Lauren Daigle’s enduring smash “You Say” has been on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart for a total of 54 weeks.
It has spent 52 of those 54 weeks in the #1 position.
Indeed, “You Say” this week celebrates the equivalent of a year as America’s hottest Christian song. The only weeks in which it did not rule the chart were its first (it debuted at #33 after a very abbreviated first week of tracking) and the week of Christmas (when it ceded the throne to Daigle’s version of “The Christmas Song”).
“You Say” boasts the second-longest reign in Hot Christian Songs history; only Hillsong United’s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” has spent more time in the pinnacle position (61 weeks).
Not simply a massive success within the Contemporary Christian genre, “You Say” became a bona fide crossover smash. It charted prominently at hot adult contemporary and pop radio and reached a peak of #29 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. An especially strong performer on the sales front, “You Say” has spent the entirety of its run in the upper reaches of the all-genre US iTunes chart.
