Kanye West’s “Ye” Projected For #1 With 74-79K US Sales, 205-220K Total Units (Update)

Early projections have emerged for Kanye West’s new album.

Update: With more data available, Hits Daily Double has issued revised projections for Kanye West’s “ye.”

The publication now expects “ye” to sell 74-79,000 pure US copies this week. With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, the album should generate 205-220,000 in total first-week units.

The sales figure should be enough for #1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart, while the consumption tally should score “ye” #1 on the Billboard 200.

Hits was initially expecting 70-80,000 in sales and 175-190,000 in overall consumption.

Initial sales and consumption projections have emerged for Kanye West’s new “Ye,” and they suggest the album is on track for a #1 debut on the Billboard 200.

According to Hits Daily Double, “ye” is pacing for 70-80,000 pure US sales this week. With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, the album should generate 175-190,000 in overall consumption.

The sales figure should be enough for #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, while the latter makes “ye” the safe bet for #1 on the Billboard 200.

Given the unusual rollout, projections should be considered rough at this point. Stay tuned for more updates as the week progresses.

— “ye” is the follow-up to West’s 2016 album “The Life Of Pablo,” which debuted with 28,000 pure sales (via direct-to-consumer purchases) and 94,000 units after launching across the full gamut of streaming services. It was originally issued as a TIDAL exclusive.

2013’s “Yeezus,” his previous release (and a more conventional commercial offering), sold 327,000 first-week copies in the US.
