In comparison to the show’s historical standard, Tuesday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” was not a strong ratings performer.
It did, however, narrowly outperform relevant recent episodes.
Citing metered market data, NBC says the episode drew a 1.8 overnight household rating. It posted a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating in the Top 25 markets.
The episode, which featured Ariana Grande as the whole-show guest, narrowly outperformed Monday’s installment in households. That broadcast drew the same 0.5 in the demo but a 1.7 in households.
It meanwhile beat last Tuesday’s episode (1.7, 0.4) in both columns.
— When it comes to other noteworthy late-night competition, Tuesday’s “Tonight Show” markedly trailed “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” (2.6 for Helen Hunt/Kevin Smith/Paramore) but narrowly beat “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (1.7 for Miley Cyrus/Elizabeth Warren) in households.
It tied “Colbert” in adults 18-49; “Kimmel” trailed both shows with a 0.4 in the demo.
