J. Cole’s “KOD” Dominates US Album Sales Race, Will Claim #1 On Billboard 200

The new J. Cole album predictably earns #1 on the week’s album charts.

J. Cole’s “KOD” predictably won this week’s US album sales and consumption races.

According to data from Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle, “KOD” sold approximately 166,027 pure US copies during the April 20-26 tracking period.

With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, the album generated roughly 394,824 in first-week consumption units.

Streams contributed handsomely to the opening week consumption figure; Hits credits “KOD” with 331 million first-week audio streams (or 220.8K in SEA units).

Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly from that reported by Hits and BuzzAngle. Any discrepancies will not, however, affect the overall outcome. The pure sales total will earn “KOD” #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales, while the consumption figure will be more than enough for a dominant #1 bow on the Billboard 200.
