Update: Late Thursday night, Camila Cabello released a new version of “Never Be The Same” featuring country star Kane Brown.
By Friday afternoon, it was the best-selling song on the US iTunes store.
“Never Be The Same” occupies #1 on the all-genre sales chart as of press time at 2:10PM ET Friday. It seized the throne from Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left To Cry,” which had ruled since shortly after its release last Friday.
The original version of “Never Be The Same” is also selling well; it occupies the #12 position at press time. Brown’s own “Heaven” closely follows at #14.

Camila Cabello’s “Never Be The Same” has been a consistently strong performer on the US iTunes store.
When it comes to US iTunes sales chart, few country stars (or any artists, for that matter) have enjoyed more recent success than Kane Brown.
It should therefore come as no surprise that a new version of “Never Be The Same,” which features Brown, is resonating with buyers.
As of press time at 9:15AM ET, the song is #5 — and rising — on the all-genre single sales chart.
Only Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left To Cry” (#1), Bebe Rexha’s “Meant To Be (featuring Florida Georgia Line)” (#2), Imagine Dragons’ “Whatever It Takes” (#3), and Drake’s “Nice For What” (#4) are selling at a faster pace.
— The original version of “Never Be The Same” remains prominently positioned at #8 on the chart. Kane Brown’s current radio single “Heaven” meanwhile follows at #11.
