Camila Cabello Comments As Her Debut Album Goes Platinum: “Am I Being Punk’d?”

Camila Cabello’s “Havana” also reached the 5x platinum threshold.

Thursday afternoon, the RIAA published a handful of new US song and album certifications.

Two of those certifications involve Camila Cabello.

Cabello received a 5x platinum award for her #1 hit “Havana (featuring Young Thug).” The award confirms 5 million US units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

The pop star meanwhile received a platinum certification for her debut solo album “Camila.” The award confirms 1 million in US units. Album units are equal to 1 sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

“I CANT BELIEVE MY ALBUM JUST WENT PLATINUM. Is everyone in on this prank that Ashton Kutcher is playing on me ? Am I being PUNK’D ?! THIS DOES NOT FEEL REAL THANK YOU SO MUCH,” wrote Cabello in response to the news. “never in a million years did i think this would happen right now and I’m not just saying that….. I never ever expected this- making this album changed my life and it means so much to me that you guys love it.. JESUS I AM OVER. WHELMED. WOW WOW.”

“Havana” hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at pop, rhythmic and hot adult contemporary radio. It earned #2 on Headline Planet’s rundown of 2017’s best pop hits.

“Camila” debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It has remained in or around the Top 10 since its January release.
