Thirty Seconds To Mars’ “AMERICA” Pacing For 50-60K First-Week US Sales

“AMERICA” may challenge for #1 on the pure sales chart.

While Thirty Seconds To Mars’ “AMERICA” will not challenge Cardi B’s “Invasion Of Privacy” for #1 on the consumption-driven Billboard 200 chart, it may earn #1 for pure sales.

Based on opening day sales data, Hits Daily Double expects “AMERICA” to sell 50-60,000 pure US copies this week.

That projection puts “AMERICA” in a tight race with Cardi B’s album, which is currently tracking for 45-55,000 pure sales. Pure sales data determines placement on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

The Billboard 200, meanwhile, accounts for the sum of pure sales, TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500). That structure favors “Invasion Of Privacy,” which is faring markedly better on the TEA and SEA fronts.

Hits only expects “AMERICA” to receive a ~5K boost from TEA and SEA. “Invasion Of Privacy,” on the other hand, may generate between 125-150,000
