Fifth Harmony Confirms Hiatus; Ally, Dinah, Lauren, Normani To Pursue Solo Endeavors

Fifth Harmony confirmed a widely speculated hiatus in a Monday morning Tweet.

Given that each member of Fifth Harmony now appears on at least one track outside the group, speculation had been building that the group would officially announce a hiatus.

That announcement came Monday morning. Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and Normani revealed that they will be taking time to pursue solo endeavors.

“After six years going hard, non stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors,” reads the statement.

“In doing this, we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family.”

The statement notes that the group will honor its previously scheduled dates for this year. Beyond that, however, the group will be on pause while the members attempt to achieve success on the solo front.

In terms of non-Fifth Harmony endeavors, Normani appears on “Love Lies” with Khalid; the song is faring well on Spotify and beginning to soar at rhythmic and pop radio.

Ally Brooke recently released “Perfect” with Topic, while Dinah Jane is featured alongside Daddy Yankee and French Montana on RedOne’s “Boom Boom.”

Lauren Jauregui has released noteworthy collaborations with Marian Hill (“Back To Me”), Halsey (“Strangers”), Ty Dolla $ign (“In Your Phone”) and Steve Aoki (“All Night”).

The announcement does not mark the first shakeup for Fifth Harmony. In December 2016, the group revealed that original member Camila Cabello had departed to pursue a solo career.
