Maroon 5’s “Wait” Receiving Early Pop Radio Airplay; WiLD 94.9, Music Choice Leading The Way

A few stations have begun to spin Maroon 5’s “Wait.”

While an official impact date has not yet been announced, Interscope’s radio team is set to begin promoting Maroon 5’s new single “Wait” shortly into the New Year.

A few US pop stations decided not to wait until then.

According to Mediabase, San Francisco’s WiLD 94.9 played “Wait” a whopping 31 times during the seven days between December 23-29.

Music Choice’s Top 40 channel offered 28 spins during that period, while San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW delivered 25 plays.

Other early supporters include Omaha’s Channel 94.1 (18 plays), Daytona Beach’s 103.3 The Vibe (7 plays), Green Bay’s 101 WIXX (7 plays) and Eureka/Peoria’s 98.5 KISS FM (2 plays).

“Wait” is set as the follow-up to Maroon 5’s “What Lovers Do (featuring SZA),” which reached the Top 5 at pop radio. It still holds a Top 10 position at the format.
