Sam Smith’s “The Thrill Of It All” Wins US Sales Race, Will Take #1 On Billboard 200

Sam Smith scores his first #1 album in the United States.

Sam Smith’s “The Thrill Of It All” dominated this week’s US album sales and consumption races.

According to Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle, “The Thrill Of It All” sold ~187,410 pure US copies during the November 3-9 tracking week.

The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) yields a first-week consumption figure of about 225,122.

Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data will differ slightly from that reported by Hits. The discrepancies will obviously be not significant enough to alter the overall outcomes.

The pure sales figure will be enough for #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales, while the consumption mark will yield a #1 bow on the Billboard 200.

“The Thrill Of It All” is Smith’s first #1 album in the United States. His previous release “In The Lonely Hour” debuted (and peaked) at #2.
