In the past, some CW shows have proven resistant to competition from key sports or news events.
That was true of this week’s “Riverdale,” which held steady in adults 18-49 (and nearly matched last week’s viewership mark) despite heavy competition from game seven of the World Series.
According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s “Riverdale” drew a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 1.58 million overall viewers.
Last week’s episode drew a 0.6 rating and 1.62 million viewers.
While the past few “Riverdale” episodes have not been as hot as the second season premiere, they are markedly outperforming the show’s first season averages. The buzz — and Netflix binging — clearly helped “Riverdale” grow during the offseason.
— “Riverdale” led into the fourth episode of “Dynasty.”
The struggling new series drew a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating and 0.76 million viewers this week. Last week’s episode posted a 0.2 rating and 0.72 million.
