“Big Little Lies” Wins Outstanding Limited Series Emmy, Also Claims Three Acting Awards

“Big Little Lies” had a great night at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards.

HBO’s acclaimed “Big Little Lies” predictably won the 69th Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Series.

It beat out “Fargo,” “Feud,” “The Night Of,” and “Genius.”

The program also fared well in the Limited Series or Movie acting categories; it won three of the four available trophies.

Nicole Kidman won for Outstanding Lead Actress, Alexander Skarsgard earned the Outstanding Supporting Actor honor, and Laura Dern took home the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

Lacking a nominee in the Outstanding Lead Actor category, “Big Little Lies” had no chance of a sweep. HBO, however, managed to claim a sweep. Riz Ahmed of its “The Night Of” took home the award in that category.

— “Big Little Lies” also won the Emmy for Limited Series or Movie directing. The “San Junipero” installment of “Black Mirror,” which won for Outstanding Movie, took home the Writing trophy.
