“This Is Us” Star Sterling K. Brown Named Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series

Sterling K. Brown wins an Emmy Award for his work in “This Is Us.”

Last year, Sterling K. Brown won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his work on “The People v. OJ Simpson.”

This year, he won Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series for his work in NBC’s “This Is Us.”

Brown beat out fellow “This Is Us” cast member Milo Ventimiglia as well as Matthew Rhys, Bob Odenkirk, Liev Schreiber, Anthony Hopkins and Kevin Spacey for the coveted trophy.

He is the first cast member to win from a network show since “Friday Night Lights” star Kyle Chandler took home the trophy in 2011 (and there is an asterisk, as “FNL” was a co-venture between Audience Network and NBC).
