Fifth Harmony’s New Album Debuts At #4 On Billboard 200 (Updated)

The projections were pretty much on point when it comes to “Fifth Harmony.”

Update: Billboard has released its opening week numbers for Fifth Harmony’s new, self-titled album. They essentially match those reported by Hits Daily Double/BuzzAngle.

According to Billboard, “Fifth Harmony” sold 32K pure US copies during its first week. With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, the album generated 46K in total consumption units.

The pure sales figure earns “Fifth Harmony” #2 on Top Album Sales, while the consumption tally is enough for #4 on the Billboard 200.

Hits/BuzzAngle had reported the pure sales total as 33K and the consumption tally at 46K. It took #2 and #5 on the corresponding BuzzAngle charts (BuzzAngle has Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” at #4, while Billboard has it at #5).

While Billboard’s data will not arrive until later this weekend, Hits and BuzzAngle have revealed their first-week numbers for Fifth Harmony’s third studio album.

Hits and BuzzAngle report that the self-titled album sold ~33,142 pure US copies during the August 25-31 tracking week. With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, “Fifth Harmony” generated ~45,937 total US consumption units.

Billboard’s data may differ slightly — but not dramatically — from that reported by BuzzAngle.

The sales number is in-line with projections, while the consumption figure is slightly higher. Issued Monday, the projections called for a bow with 30-35,000 sales and 40-45,000 units.

“Fifth Harmony” debuts at #2 on the BuzzAngle sales chart and #5 on the BuzzAngle consumption chart. The positions on the Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts should be similar, but they may not be identical.

“Fifth Harmony,” the group’s first album since Camila Cabello’s departure, is the follow-up to 2016’s “7/27.” That release debuted with 49K pure US sales and 74K US units.

“Reflection,” the group’s debut LP, opened with 62K sales and 80K units in 2015.
