Fifth Harmony Officially Confirms MTV Video Music Awards Performance

“They heard you, Harmonizers,” says Fifth Harmony in its official announcement.

Fifth Harmony just confirmed one of the worst-kept secrets in music.

The group will be performing at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.

“They heard you Harmonizers,” wrote Fifth Harmony in its official Twitter announcement. “See you on 8/27.”

Talk of a Fifth Harmony VMA performance dates back to a mid-July Headline Planet Tweet.  The Tweet cited information from In2une Music, which had been helping with radio promotion for Fifth Harmony’s “Down (featuring Gucci Mane).”  Additional hints and speculation emerged in subsequent days.

Fifth Harmony’s official announcement does not specify the song choice, but the belief is that the group will be performing “Down” with Gucci Mane.  A recent TMZ story said that footage from the performance will be used in Gucci Mane’s upcoming BET reality show.

Fifth Harmony joins host and performer Katy Perry on the bill for the 2017 VMA ceremony.  Additional performers will be announced soon.
