Updated projections have emerged for Jay-Z’s “4:44,” which debuted as a wide release in conjunction with the July 7-13 tracking week.
According to Hits Daily Double, “4:44” is now expected to sell 165-180,000 pure US albums this week. The initial projection called for a bow in the 150-175,000 range.
With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500), “4:44” should generate 215-240,000 total units. The early projection said “4:44” would debut with 250-275,000 in total units.
In short, “4:44” is doing better from a pure album sales standpoint but worse from a track sales and streaming standpoint than analysts initially expected.
“4:44” is still the clear frontrunner for #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales (pure sales) and Billboard 200 (units) charts.
