WWE Confirms Women’s Tournament Will Be Called “Mae Young Classic”

WWE reveals more details regarding its summer women’s wrestling tournament.

Earlier this spring, WWE announced plans for a 32-participant women’s wrestling tournament.

Tuesday, Triple H revealed more details.

Named the “Mae Young Classic” (after the iconic women’s wrestler), the tournament will film at Full Sail on July 13 and 14. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 26 at 10AM ET.

“A tournament with top female talent from around the world is the next stage of the Womens Evolution in @WWE…July 13/14th from @FullSail,” declared Triple H on Twitter.

The tournament will be broadcast on WWE Network; the specific airtime was not available as of this writing.

In its earlier announcement, WWE noted that seventeen countries will be represented.
