The RIAA officially confirmed the certification April 12, 2017.

The award confirms at least 1 million in US album units. Each unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

“Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” has topped the Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts.
