“Beauty And The Beast” Conquers US Box Office With Biggest March Opening Ever

“Beauty And The Beast” was an absolute beast at the US box office this weekend, earning #1 with a record-setting gross.

Per studio estimates, the live-action “Beauty” earned $170.0 million in its first weekend. The figure is the best ever attained in March — and the seventh-biggest opening gross in history.

“Kong: Skull Island,” last weekend’s winner, takes #2 this weekend. It earned another $28.9 million, which brings its cumulative tally to $110.1 million.

“Logan” takes #3 with $17.5 million (cume now $184.0 million), while “Get Out” earns #4 courtesy its $13.2 million (cume now $133.1 million).

Credited with $6.1 million in weekend earnings, “The Shack” grabs #5 on the chart. Its cumulative total now stands at $42.6 million.
