Tuesday, the two artists performed the song on NBC’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
The performance will amplify excitement over Mellencamp’s forthcoming studio album “Sad Clowns & Hillbillies,” which is due on April 28.

John Mellencamp recently released “Grandview,” a collaboration with Martina McBride that appears on his forthcoming album “Sad Clowns and Hillbillies.”
Tuesday, Mellencamp and McBride join forces to perform the song on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
The performance marks Mellencamp’s second appearance on the Fallon version of NBC’s “Tonight Show.” It is McBride’s first time on the Fallon-hosted show.
Tuesday’s “Tonight Show” also includes appearances by Michael Shannon and Alicia Keys. Both participate in interviews; Keys also plays “Wheel Of Musical Impressions.”
The episode airs at 11:35PM ET/PT (it may be delayed slightly on the east coast depending on the length of the presidential address).
