Migos & Lil Uzi Vert’s “Bad And Boujee” Reaches #1 On US iTunes Sales Chart

This past Saturday, Migos’ “Bad And Boujee (featuring Lil Uzi Vert)” reached the Top 5 on the US iTunes sales chart.

Thursday morning, it climbed to #1 on the listing.

“Bad And Boujee” seized the iTunes throne from Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy,” which reached #1 due to a combination of a pricing discount, growing radio exposure and Christmas/Hanukkah gift card redemptions (which tend to benefit younger-skewing artists).

“Bad And Boujee” itself has numerous factors working in its favor.

In addition to a growing radio presence of its own, “Bad And Boujee” is involved in an Internet meme that makes use of the song’s “Raindrop Drop Top” lyric. Its success on iTunes is, moreover, likely producing a compound effect: curious music fans are seeing the song in the Top 10/5, previewing the track, and then deciding to buy.

“Mercy” is currently #2 on the listing. Bruno Mars’ #3 “24K Magic,” The Chainsmokers’ #4 “Closer (featuring Halsey)” and Niall Horan’s #5 “This Town” close out the Top 10.
