In the wake of Camila Cabello’s departure, it is unclear whether Fifth Harmony’s performances (“That’s My Girl,” “Worth It” with Kid Ink, and “Work From Home” with Ty Dolla $ign) will still air as part of the “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special.
Interview snippets with group do, however, remain in ABC’s electronic press kit for the annual New Year’s special. The snippets, presumably taped when Fifth Harmony (Cabello included) filmed their performances, include the group members revealing their New Year’s Resolutions.
Fellow performer Emeli Sande, Times Square host Ryan Seacrest and Billboard Hollywood Party host (and performer) Fergie also shared their resolutions — or at least their perspectives on New Year’s Resolutions.
“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” airs from 8PM-11PM, breaks for the local news, and then returns from 11:30PM-2:13AM.
Transcripts of the New Year’s Resolutions follow:
Fifth Harmony:
Camila: In Cuban culture, we have these things – the 12 Grapes – and we put them in a cup, and [in] the last four seconds of the [year] we have to eat [them] one-by-one and make a wish for every one. So I usually don’t have one New Year’s Resolution; [it’s] usually just – to be healthy, to be happy, and then…I have twelve. So – can’t remember all of them.
Normani: For me, normally it’s to eat healthier, and I feel like this is the first year that it’s actually worked out.
Lauren: She’s killing it! She’s a Pescatarian now!
Normani: I went Pescatarian this year, so I’m excited. But for all the years prior — it didn’t work.
Dinah: My New Year’s Resolution actually comes months after – like June, July. That’s when it kicks in. Take your time!
Lauren: I’ve had the same New Year’s Resolution, like, every year – just to get in shape. And I have yet to accomplish it.
Dinah: You’re in shape, look at her (while grabbing Lauren’s waist).
Lauren: No, but not like my shape, you know what I mean. Granted, I’m grateful (gestures to her body)…[but] everything can get better.
Ally: (sings) Gonna Get Better.
Emeli Sande: I don’t usually make New Year’s Resolutions because after a few years of trying, they just never seem to stick. So, I’m just going to try to be peaceful and happy in 2017.
Fergie: It usually has to do with exercising. It’s just one more way to get myself to have a goal about exercising or eating well. It’ll last for a little while, and then it fades, and then the next year it’ll just give me another motivation again. I’m probably like a lot of people in that way. I wish I had some significant one, but it’s always just in some way to motivate myself to work out and eat healthy…I’m just trying to inspire myself. Whatever works, you know?!
Ryan Seacrest: I do normally make a resolution, but like everybody else, I usually forget about it within five days of the New Year. I think this year I’m going to go on a “Digital Diet” and try to not use my phone for…I’m going to say a day, but at least for a few hours, a day a week.
