ZAYN & Taylor Swift’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” Received 1386 First Day Spins At Pop Radio, 173 At Hot AC

Aided by an “on the hour” iHeartMedia airplay promotion and the enthusiasm one would expect for a pairing between ZAYN and Taylor Swift, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” received an impressive amount of first day airplay at pop radio.

According to Mediabase, the collaboration had received 1,386 spins by the end of Friday. The count positions “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” at #32 on Mediabase’s building pop chart, which ranks songs based on airplay received during the first six days of the December 4-10 tracking week.

“I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” will not receive quite as many spins Saturday, but it will obviously remain comfortably in the Top 40 through the close of tracking. A Top 30 debut is not impossible.

— The song’s opening day support was not limited to the pop format. “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” also received 173 spins at the hot adult contemporary format, which is enough for #50 on Mediabase’s building Hot AC chart.

“I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” remains #1 on iTunes in numerous countries, including the US and UK.
