Ratings: ABC’s “Wonderful World Of Disney” Special Performs Modestly

ABC’s “The Wonderful World Of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” was a modest performer Thursday night.

According to fast national data posted by ABC, it drew a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating and 4.98 million total viewers. The first hour drew a 1.0 and 5.28 million, while the second hour posted a 1.0 and 4.69 million.

While not terrible numbers, they hardly reflect a popular television event.

As it currently stands, the show averages out to fourth in the 8-10PM timeslot behind football on NBC, comedies on CBS and football-boosted re-runs on FOX. The FOX re-runs may come down in the finals (once any football inflation is removed), but “Wonderful World Of Disney” will surely land beneath the NBC and CBS programming.

ABC’s Thursday night Disney special was the first of three holiday specials filmed at Disney Parks. The second, which carries a “Descendants” theme, airs tonight on Disney Channel. The third will air on ABC Christmas morning.
