The television broadcast of Sunday’s “Westworld” had key advantages over the previous episode.
The episode, unlike last week’s edition, had not been made available for early streaming on HBO Go/Now.
The episode, unlike last week’s edition, did not face competition from the presidential debate.
Unsurprisingly, it posted week-to-week gains in live+same-day viewership.
According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Westworld” drew a 0.92 adults 18-49 rating and 2.10 million total viewers. The numbers top the 0.67 rating and 1.50 million audience mark garnered by last week’s episode.
This week’s edition also topped the October 2 series premiere, which scored a 0.77 and 1.96 million total viewers.
In addition to drawing solid linear, live+same-day television viewership, “Westworld” seems to be very popular with multi-platform/streaming/encore/DVR viewers. It is clearly reaching a much wider audience than the 2.10 million who tuned in Sunday night.
— Benefiting from the increased lead-in support and decreased competition, “Divorce” also posted big gains this week. The “Westworld” lead-out drew a 0.24 adults 18-49 rating and 0.85 million viewers, besting the 0.14 rating and 0.57 million mark garnered by the previous week’s premiere.
“Insecure” followed with a 0.15 and 0.46 million. Last week’s episode drew a 0.11 and 0.37 million total viewers.
HBO’s night closed with “Last Week Tonight.” The show, which drew a 0.42 and 1.08 million viewers last week, posted a 0.49 and 1.34 million in viewership this week.
