NBC’s “This Is Us” Posts Best Premiere L+3 Ratings Gain Since “Empire”

A popular live+same-day attraction, NBC’s “This Is Us” premiere also received a mammoth live+3 lift.

Citing live+3 data (the initial broadcast plus three days of DVR viewing), NBC notes that Tuesday’s critically acclaimed premiere drew a 4.2 adults 18-49 rating and 13.5 million total viewers.

The adults 18-49 rating bests the live+same-day figure by 1.4. The viewership mark represents a gain of 3.4 million over the live+same-day tally.

NBC boasts that the 1.4 adults 18-49 lift is the greatest for a broadcast network series premiere since “Empire” added 1.5 in January 2015.

The 4.2 live+3 rating, meanwhile, ranks as the best live+3 figure for a series premiere since the 4.4 achieved by last year’s “Blindspot” opener.
