The visit marks Mendes’ third “Tonight Show” visit of 2016. It is his fourth overall appearance on the show.
Unlike his previous appearances on the show, Mendes does not simply deliver the conventional, show-closing musical performance. He also sits in with The Roots for a “Hashtags: Fall Songs” segment.
Mendes’ appearance comes in support of his new album “Illuminate,” which releases Friday. It will actually be available for digital purchase by the time his performance airs.
