ABC’s “Greatest Hits” Ratings Rise For Live Finale

ABC’s live “Greatest Hits” finale enjoyed substantial week-to-week gains in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, the two-hour broadcast averaged a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating and 3.60 million total viewers.

While not a blockbuster performance, the episode markedly outdrew last week’s broadcast. That episode, which focused on the 2000-2005 period, posted a 0.6 rating and drew 2.41 million total viewers.

Airing from 9-11PM ET, this week’s “Greatest Hits” was the third-most-watched of the series’ six episodes; only the 1980-1985 premiere and 1985-1990 episodes drew larger audience figures. It ties the 1985-1990 and 1995-2000 episodes for second-best in adults 18-49; only the premiere fared better in that regard.

With performers like Ariana Grande, Adam Lambert, Smash Mouth, Sheryl Crow, Hunter Hayes, John Legend, and Richard Marx, Thursday’s episode focused on the entire 1980-2005 window.
