Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “The Getaway” Claims #1 on US iTunes Sales Chart; Mumford & Sons, YG Follow

As of 1:50AM ET Friday, new releases occupy the top four slots on the US iTunes sales chart.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “The Getaway” is the leader among those four.

The band’s first studio album since 2011’s “I’m With You” is currently #1 on the listing. Mumford & Sons’ “Johannesburg” EP is #2 on the chart, while YG’s “Still Brazy” and Thousand Foot Krutch’s “Exhale” are positioned at #3 and #4, respectively.

Still selling briskly in the wake of this past Sunday’s dominant Tony Awards showing, the “Hamilton: An American Musical” cast recording is #5.

Beyonce’s enduring “Lemonade” is positioned at #6 on the chart, ahead of Jon Pardi’s new “California Sunrise” (#7), Bassnectar’s new “Unlimited” (#8), Gojira’s new “Magma” (#9), and Drake’s enduring “Views” (#10).

Specific sales projections for the week’s key new releases should emerge Saturday.
