Report: Fifth Harmony’s “7/27” Debuts at #3 For US Sales, #4 For US Consumption

Based on data reported by Hits Daily Double, Fifth Harmony’s sophomore album “7/27” was the May 27-July 2 tracking week’s third-best-selling album in the US.

It was #4 in terms of total consumption.

Hits’ report, which is labeled “final” but may receive a slight revision this weekend, says “7/27” sold about 54,570 pure US copies during its first week of release. With Track Equivalent Albums (track sales/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams/1500) added to the pure sales total, Hits says “7/27” generated approximately 78,422 weekly consumption units.

Hits notes that Dierks Bentley’s “Black” (~88,939 pure US sales) and Beyonce’s “Lemonade” (~58,442) sold more pure copies during the tracking period. Drake’s “Views” (~149,080 units), “Black” (~102,071) and “Lemonade” (~83,221) are credited with more weekly consumption.

Billboard’s final, more authoritative data typically differs slightly from that reported by Hits, but the discrepancy may not change the hierarchy.

Assuming the positions hold, “7/27” will take #3 on Top Album Sales and #4 on the Billboard 200.

Fifth Harmony’s previous album “Reflection” earned the same #3 on Top Album Sales with opening week sales of 62,000. It debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 but generated a slightly greater consumption total of 80,000 units.
