Volbeat’s “Devil’s Bleeding Crown” Remains #1 at Active Rock Radio; Red Hot Chili Peppers Top 5

Volbeat’s rock radio smash “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown” earns a third consecutive week atop the Mediabase active rock airplay chart. It has only been on the chart for seven weeks total.

The song received a format-leading ~2,228 spins during the May 15-21 tracking week. Up 174 from last week’s mark, the tally gives “Crown” a lead of more than 500 plays over the #2 song.

Five Finger Death Punch’s “My Nemesis,” that #2 song, was played ~1,688 times during the weekly tracking period (-21). It was #3 on last week’s chart**.

Bring Me The Horizon’s “Happy Song” slips one spot to #3**. It received ~1,606 weekly spins (-123).

Sixx:AM’s “Rise” holds at #4 with ~1,589 weekly spins (+31), while a tracking period play count of ~1,490 (+294) sends Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dark Necessities” from #7 to #5 in its third week on the chart.

**Editor’s Note: Following the publication of last week’s chart, Mediabase revised several spin counts. Those revisions resulted in “My Nemesis” dropping to #3 (it was originally listed at #2 on the official chart) and “Happy Song” rising to #2 (it was #3 when the chart went to print).
