DNCE’s “Toothbrush” Impacting Pop Radio On May 17, ZAYN’s “Like I Would” May 24

Update: Headline Planet can confirm that ZAYN’s “Like I Would” will officially go for pop adds on May 24, a week later than the previously reported May 17 date.

The single has been receiving airplay in advance of that impact date; it is currently one of the Mediabase pop panel’s Top 60 songs.

DNCE’s “Toothbrush” is still impacting on May 17.

The respective follow-ups to a #1 pop radio hit and a #2 pop radio hit are scheduled to impact on May 17.

RCA just announced the May 17 date for ZAYN’s “Like I Would,” which is the follow-up to his chart-topping debut solo single “PILLOWTALK.”

“PILLOWTALK” officially reached #1 last week, and it has a chance of retaining its throne on this week’s edition of the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

DNCE’s “Toothbrush” is also slated to impact that day. Republic had originally announced an impact date of April 19, but the pop push was delayed when it became clear DNCE’s previous (and debut) single “Cake By The Ocean” still had momentum.

That momentum finally vanished this past week, as “Cake” slipped from its #2 peak to #4 on the Mediabase pop chart. While it may not suffer another positional loss this week, it is thus far down another 11% in pop airplay.
