Columbia remains silent – at least publicly – on the identity of the third radio single from Adele’s “25.”
Hot adult contemporary radio programmers remain supportive of “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” as a candidate. The song, which returned to the Mediabase Top 60 last week, is on track to score an official Top 50 airplay position this week.
“Send My Love” was spun 147 times during the first five days of the April 17-23 tracking week. Up 81.5% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Send My Love” at #50 on Mediabase’s building Hot AC chart.
Given its rate of gain, “Send My Love” should be able to leapfrog a few songs prior to the close of tracking. It will also receive a bump of one place when Adele’s own “When We Were Young” is removed as a recurrent. The purging of other faded songs would also result in an increased position.
The new single — “Send My Love” or otherwise — will be the follow-up to the #2-peaking “When We Were Young.” Lead “25” single “Hello” reached #1 on the Hot AC chart.
