Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” which has spent the past five weeks atop the Mediabase hot adult contemporary airplay chart, may cede its throne this week.
The anticipated new leader? Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away.”
The “Nine Track Mind” single received 4,869 spins during the first five days of the April 10-16 tracking week. Ten spins better than the count achieved by “Love Yourself,” the tally slots “One Call Away” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.
A ten-spin lead is far from a definitive one, and “Love Yourself” could easily close the gap before the week concludes. Momentum, however, favors the Puth song.
The “One Call Away” spin count is 4.3% above where it was last week; “Love Yourself,” meanwhile, is down 0.3%. If they remain on their current trajectories, “One Call Away” would obviously maintain — and expand — its lead through the close of tracking.
