Drake, Pitbull & Enrique Iglesias, Daya Headed For Pop Radio’s Top 40

Singles by Drake, Pitbull, and Daya are on track to earn Top 40 positions on this week’s pop radio airplay chart.

Drake will crack the Top 40 with “One Dance (featuring WizKid & Kyla).” The song, which received 927 spins during the first five days of the April 10-16 tracking week (+278.4%), is currently #36 on the building Mediabase airplay chart. Given its rate of growth and the lack of imminent threats from below, it will have no trouble remaining comfortably within the Top 40 through the close of tracking.

It may even leapfrog songs like Sia’s building #35 “Cheap Thrills,” Major Lazer’s building #34 “Light It Up,” and Hailee Steinfeld’s building #33 “Rock Bottom.”

Pitbull’s “Messin’ Around (featuring Enrique Iglesias)” should also crack the Top 40 this week. The song is currently #37 on the building chart thanks to the 916 spins it received over the tracking week’s first five days.

“Sit Still, Look Pretty,” the follow-up to Daya’s Top 10 breakthrough “Hide Away,” is also Top 40 bound. Spun 692 times during the tracking week’s first five days, the song is #39 on the building chart.

Both songs should have no issue retaining their Top 40 positions over the final two days of the frame.

— Also on the Top 40 radar:

Jeremih’s “oui,” which is #41 on building and should be able to leapfrog Nathan Sykes’ “Over And Over Again (featuring Ariana Grande)” before tracking closes. With other songs gaining steam just below “oui,” it is nonetheless too early to view a Top 40 position as guaranteed.
