Little Mix’s “Secret Love Song” Receiving Airplay On Mix 106-5, Radio Disney

Columbia has not yet officially announced a US radio impact date for Little Mix’s “Secret Love Song (featuring Jason Derulo),” but two US pop stations have begun providing the song with early airplay.

According to Mediabase, the girl group’s Top 5 UK sales hit received 17 spins from Baltimore’s Mix 106-5 and 11 spins from Radio Disney over the trailing seven days (March 14-20).

While certainly not reflective of a sweeping radio commitment to the song (let alone enough to bring the song within striking distance of the Top 40 airplay chart), the airplay does indicate that stations are beginning to test the track.

In a February promotional e-mail confirming that the song was “coming soon” to pop radio, Columbia noted that “Secret Love Song” had also received early spins from pop stations like New York’s 92.3 AMP and San Francisco’s 99-7 NOW. Rhythmic station Sirius Venus and dance stations Evolution and C89.5 had also sampled the song.

As recently as last Monday, Columbia’s promotional team had maintained “Secret Love Song” was to receive a forthcoming push at US pop radio. An update will hopefully provided in the next weekly promo blast, which is due Monday evening.
