While Friday’s biggest iTunes story involves the eruption of Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece By Piece,” which soared to #1 following her emotional performance on “American Idol,” Fifth Harmony’s new single “Work From Home (featuring Ty Dolla $ign)” is making its own impressive waves.

As of 9:45AM ET, which comes less than three hours after the song’s official premiere, the lead “7/27” single is #9 on the US iTunes single sales chart.

Thanks to passionate support from the “Harmonizer” fanbase and all-day radio exposure on many major pop stations, “Work From Home” is likely to continue its climb in the coming hours.

Set for a May 20 release, the “7/27” album was made available for pre-order purchase beginning Thursday night.
