Ratings: HBO’s “Vinyl” Loses Viewers, “Girls” Sets Premiere Low, “Togetherness” Returns

While it was up slightly in adults 18-49, Sunday’s “Vinyl” suffered a loss in total viewership. Since HBO is a premium network fueled by subscriptions rather than spend from adults 18-49-seeking advertisers, the viewership figure is arguably more relevant.

Per Nielsen L+SD ratings, the second weekly “Vinyl” broadcast drew a 0.27 adults 18-49 rating and reached 667,000 total viewers. Last week’s premiere posted a 0.25 but reached 764,000 total viewers.

“Vinyl” led into the season premiere of “Girls,” which drew a 0.23 adults 18-49 rating and 489,000 total viewers. While not the least-watched overall episode, it was the series’ worst-performing season premiere.

The season two premiere of “Togetherness” followed with a 0.15 rating and 430,000 total viewers. The previous season premiere was good for a stronger 0.23 demo rating but a slightly lesser viewership sum of 427,000.

“Last Week Tonight” followed with a 0.34 rating and 919,000 total viewers.
