Ratings: “Wonderful World Of Disney” Outperforms “Must See TV”

While they only overlapped in the 9PM hour, ABC’s two-hour “The Wonderful World Of Disney: Disneyland 60” and NBC’s two-hour “Must See TV: An All-Star Tribute To James Burrows” were naturally going to be compared against each other from a ratings analysis standpoint.

“Disneyland 60” comes across more favorably in that comparison.

Per Nielsen fast national data, the ABC special averaged 1.8 adults 18-49 rating and 6.843 million total viewers from 8-10PM. NBC’s broadcast averaged a 1.35 and 5.480 million total viewers from 9-11PM.

“Must See TV” did seem to take a bite out of the “Disneyland” special, which slipped from a 1.9 at 8PM to a 1.7 in the 9PM hour. But the bite did not shift the power dynamic; “Wonderful World” was the stronger special.
