In a rare positional deviation from the preliminary Hits Daily Double data, Billboard reports that Adele’s “25” — not Future’s “EVOL” — takes #1 on this week’s Billboard Top Album Sales chart.
The Future album, however, led the consumption-oriented Billboard 200.
According to Nielsen Music, “25” sold 102,000 US copies during the February 5-11 tracking week. The new Future album sold 99,957 within that same window.
Track Equivalent Albums (track sales/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams/1500), however, thrust “EVOL” to #1 on the Billboard 200. With TEA and SEA added to its pure sales total, “EVOL” generated 134,000 units of first week consumption. “25” drove 121,000 weekly units.
“EVOL” is Future’s third Billboard 200 #1 in seven months. In that span, he also topped the chart with his own “DS2” and with his Drake collaboration “What A Time To Be Alive.”
