Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s “IKWYDLS” Posts 133% Weekly Sales Gain; “Stitches” Rises 171%

Thanks to Christmas iTunes gift card redemptions, many artists enjoyed single sales gains during the December 25-31 tracking week.

Shawn Mendes was one of the biggest beneficiaries.

Weekly sales for “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” his collaboration with Camila Cabello, more than doubled. Weekly sales for “Stitches,” his solo breakthrough, nearly tripled.

Per Nielsen Music, “IKWYDLS” sold approximately 92,000 copies during the aforementioned tracking week. The count bests that of last week (which was itself up 80% week-to-week) by 133%. It was #21 on the Digital Songs chart.

[While it may not best the post-Christmas total, “IKWYDLS” is poised for another strong performance during the January 1-7 tracking week. Performed on FOX’s “Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution” and NBC’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the tune was also discounted on iTunes]

“Stitches,” meanwhile, sold a whopping 140,000 weekly copies. Up 171% from the previous week’s mark, the count earns Mendes’ tune the #6 spot on Digital Songs.

The sales gains also contribute to rises on the all-encompassing Hot 100; “Stitches” is up to #6, while “IKWYDLS” is at a new peak of #28.
