Adele’s “When We Were Young” Begins 2016 as Hot AC Radio’s Most-Added Song

Adele’s “When We Were Young” claimed the top spot on the final two hot adult contemporary add boards of 2015.

This week, it claims the top spot on the first Hot AC add board of 2016.

Picked up by 38 Mediabase-monitored stations, the second “25” single again ranks as the Hot AC format’s most-added song.

Already #16 on the Mediabase Hot AC airplay chart, “When We Were Young” is due to soar in the coming weeks.

An count of 26 positions twenty one pilots’ “Stressed Out” as this week’s second-most-added song. With 16 pickups each, Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away” and The Weeknd’s “In The Night” tie for third-most-added.

Two Justin Bieber songs follow in a tie for fifth-most-added. His “Love Yourself” and “Sorry” each received 12 weekly adds.

The week’s other notable Hot AC options: One Direction’s “Perfect” (11 adds, 7th-most-added), Taylor Swift’s “Out Of The Woods” (10 adds, 8th), A Great Big World’s “Oasis” (9 adds, 9th, tie), and Selena Gomez’ “Same Old Love” (9 adds, 9th, tie).
