Co-hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey and featuring musical guest Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” posted the second-best marks of the season.
Only the Donald Trump-Sia episode fared better.
Per Nielsen metered market data, this Saturday’s “SNL” drew a 5.1 overnight household rating. The number markedly trails the 3.8 achieved by last week’s Chris Hemsworth-Chance The Rapper episode.
Thus far this season, only the aforementioned Trump episode (6.6) drew a stronger overnight household mark. If one excludes the Trump episode, he would have to go back to the February 1, 2014 episode (Melissa McCarthy-Imagine Dragons) to find a more highly rated broadcast (5.4 overnight household rating).
This week’s episode additionally drew a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters. That, too, trails only the Trump installment (2.7) among season 41 episodes.
“SNL” returns from its annual holiday hiatus with an Adam Driver-hosted installment on 1/16/16.
