Ratings: FX’s “Fargo” Soars To Season High For Season Finale

On a live+same-day basis, Monday’s “Fargo” finale drew the season’s best marks in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Per L+SD cable data from Nielsen, the episode drew a 0.49 adults 18-49 rating and 1.821 million total viewers. The numbers markedly top the 0.37 rating and 1.310 million viewership mark posted by the previous week’s episode.

In topping the 0.48 rating and 1.588 million viewership sum drawn by the October 12 season premiere, they also rank as the best of the season.

While the marks do trail those posted by last season’s finale (0.6, 1.980 million), the year-to-year viewership differential was the smallest for a season two episode. All previous season two episodes trailed their season one counterparts by at least 278,000 live+same-day viewers.

Given its immense critical acclaim and impressive DVR gains, “Fargo” nonetheless remained in good standing at FX. Earlier this fall, the network ordered a third season — and reached a new overall deal with executive producer Noah Hawley.
