Icona Pop’s “I Love It” Certified 4X Platinum, Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” Earns 2X Platinum Honor

On December 14, 2015, two songs involving Charli XCX received new certifications from the RIAA.

Icona Pop’s breakthrough smash “I Love It,” which credits Charli XCX as a featured artist, officially earned a 4x platinum distinction in the United States. The certification confirms a US unit total of at least 4 million; one unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

“Boom Clap,” Charli XCX’s first major hit as a solo artist, also earned a new RIAA certification. The single, which originally appeared on the soundtrack to “The Fault In Our Stars,” was certified 2x platinum in the US (2 million units).

“I Love It” peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Boom Clap” went as high as #8.
