Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” Leading Adele’s “Hello” at Pop Radio

Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” has pulled ahead of Adele’s “Hello” in the race for #1 at pop radio.

The second “Purpose” single received 8,067 plays during the first three days of the December 13-19 tracking week. Up 10.3% from the same time last week, the count earns “Sorry” the #1 spot on Mediabase’s building pop radio airplay chart.

Currently #2 on the building chart, Adele’s “Hello” received 8,038 spins within the same three-day window. That count trails last week’s mark by 1.7%.

The race is still very tight; only twenty nine spins separate the two songs. With “Sorry” still rising and “Hello” beginning to decline, however, the landscape definitely seems to favor Bieber.

Should “Sorry” reach #1 on an official Mediabase airplay chart, it would become his second straight chart-topper. Lead “Purpose” single “What Do You Mean?” reached the top spot earlier this year.

“Hello” has spent the past four weeks at #1 on the Mediabase pop chart.
