Final Ratings Update: Airing out of the lowest-rated Monday night “The Voice” of the season (2.6, 10.293 million), NBC’s midseason “Blindspot” finale sank to series lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.
Per final Nielsen data, the episode drew a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating and reached 7.026 million total live+same-day viewers. Last week’s broadcast drew a 2.1 with 7.736 million.
Despite the decline, “Blindspot” again ranked as its timeslot’s #1 broadcast network program in adults 18-49. It was also Monday’s highest-rated scripted offering.
As for “The Voice,” its week-to-week decline (from a 3.0 and 11.208 million to the aforementioned 2.6 and 10.293 million) may have been precipitated by competition from night one of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” finale. While not a blockbuster performer, the episode did best last week’s broadcast (2.1 and 13.287 million this week versus a 1.8 and 12.351 million last week).
An improved Monday Night Football game (5.12/14.256 million vs. 4.23/12.185 million) may have also taken a bite out of viewership for both NBC programs.
Despite its decline, “The Voice” was Monday’s top broadcast network performer in adults 18-49.
=====================
Leading out of a weakened “The Voice,” NBC’s midseason “Blindspot” finale sank to live+same-day lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.
Per Nielsen fast national data, the episode drew a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating and 6.968 million total viewers. The series low numbers trail those of last week’s broadcast, which posted a 2.1 rating and a 7.736 million viewership mark.
Despite the week-to-week decline, “Blindspot” was still its timeslot’s #1 broadcast network program in adults 18-49. It was also the night’s top-rated scripted show.
“Blindspot,” moreover, tends to receive significant upticks from time-shifted viewing. It has already been renewed for a second season.
The aforementioned “The Voice” averaged a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating and 10.197 million total viewers from 8-10PM. The numbers are the season’s lowest for a Monday “The Voice” installment.
Last week’s episode drew a 3.0 and 11.208 million.
Competition from the first part of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” finale may have contributed to the decline (due to football pre-emptions, accurate ratings for that broadcast are not yet available).
