Ratings: “Liv And Maddie” Holds Up Well Against AMAs, “Austin & Ally” Falls in Return

Sunday’s “Liv And Maddie,” which featured a special guest appearance by Kristen Bell but also aired against ABC’s American Music Awards coverage, held up well in the live+same-day ratings.

Per Nielsen cable data, the episode drew a 0.44 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.51 adults 18-34 rating, and a total audience of 2.108 million total viewers.

The adults 18-49 rating narrowly trailed the previous episode’s 0.45, but the adults 18-34 and total viewership numbers both enjoyed slight improvement. The November 8 “Liv And Maddie” drew a 0.47 in adults 18-34 and reached 2.104 million total viewers.

Sunday’s “Liv And Maddie” also compares favorably to the September 20 episode, which faced awards show competition in the form of the Emmys. That episode drew a 0.39 in A18-49, a 0.37 in A18-34, and 2.103 million total viewers.

— “Liv And Maddie” led into the first “Austin & Ally” episode since October 4, 2015. It posted a 0.27 in adults 18-49, a 0.32 in adults 18-34, and reached 1.730 million total viewers.

The previous episode managed a 0.34 in A18-49, a 0.33 in A18-34, and total viewership of 2.133 million.
