Weezer’s “Thank God For Girls” Ranks As Alternative Radio’s Most-Added Song

Launched as an iHeartRadio “World Premiere” and aided by the intrigue expected for a new Weezer release, “Thank God For Girls” earns the most-added honor at alternative radio.

The new Weezer single received adds from 19 Mediabase-monitored alternative stations this week. That more than doubles the count achieved by the next-most-added song.

The 1975’s “Love Me,” that song, earned pickups from 8 stations this week.

Added by 7 stations each, New Politics’ “Girl Crush” and X Ambassadors’ “Unsteady” tie for third on the weekly add board. JR JR’s “Gone,” Nothing But Thieves’ “Trip Switch” and Saint Motel’s “Cold Cold Man” then share fifth-most-added on the strength of 5 adds each.

This week’s other notable alternative options: EL VY’s “Return To The Moon” (4 adds, 8th-most-added, tie), Andrew McMahon In the Wilderness’ “High Dive” (4 adds, 8th, tie), Adele’s “Hello” (3 adds, 10th, tie), Atlas Genius’ “Molecules” (3 adds, 10th, tie), Chris Cornell’s “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart” (3 adds, 10th, tie), Disclosure’s “Magnets (featuring Lorde)” (3 adds, 10th, tie), Panic! At The Disco’s “Victorious” (3 adds, 10th, tie).
