Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” Now Leading at Pop, Hot AC Radio

With the first three days of the October 18-24 tracking week in the books, Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” is pacing as the leader at pop and hot adult contemporary radio.

The fifth “1989” single received 7,907 pop radio spins within that three-day window. Up 5.0% from last week’s count, the mark positions “Wildest Dreams” at #1 on Mediabase’s building airplay chart.

Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?,” which topped last week’s chart, is currently #2 on the building chart. It received 7,784 spins within the first three days of the tracking week (+2.0%).

“Wildest Dreams” concurrently received 2,909 hot adult contemporary spins over the past three days. Up 6.2% from the previous week’s total, the count gives Swift’s tune a narrow lead over X Ambassadors’ “Renegades.” The song, which spent the past two weeks at #1, is #2 on the building chart. It received 2,906 spins within the aforementioned three-day window (+3.2%).

Since “What Do You Mean?” and “Renegades” are still rising (albeit slowly), “Wildest Dreams” is by no means a lock for #1 on either full-week chart. It is, however, currently the week’s most-played song at both radio formats.
